Now here I begin reviewing one of my favorite all time games. I as many others began as a gears of war 1 player and I do, I mean did consider my self to be quite good at the game even though I never posted any montages or anything like that. No offense to people who take the time to do that stuff I respect them because they really are offering themselves to the criticism to other online players who aren't always the friendliest of people. Well back to my review GoW 1 comes out gotta say I wasn't thrilled or jumped on it right away. I'm from the Halo 2 age so fighting big bugs that walk around like humans versus fighting aliens not to much of a difference but I gave it a try anyways. I remember my very first match clearly on Fuel Depot found myself holding some type of rifle that i had no idea how to use. I'm not much of a campaign guy so i jumped straight into versus and what a swim or drown jump it was first death came from a "longshot" while I was tinkering with the "lancer" first think I found how to do was roll,vault and run then came the discovery of the chainsaw and finally the shooting needless to say I did not get one kill that match but i did rack up a amazing 10 deaths but what intrigued me about the game were the new lets call it the "animations" of the death when you get "domed" the head seems to crack open like a egg and chainsawing the body falls apart it was totally new to me and I felt I wanted more not to mention the executions."Oh Man" I said I can honestly say that I spent the bulk if not my whole summer playing that game until I was pretty well know in the gears of war community back then I would come out of a ranked match with tons of friend requests... FROM THE OTHER TEAM... Well seems like I'm getting a bit off track well I find the difference from Gears 1 to 2 Gigantic and I don't mean that in a good way. I can say that Epic really fumbled the ball on that one they made the game play a whole lot slower they did add in a great feature in when you slide to a wall and are able to cancel before you finish the slide gotta say I loved it. but that was about it . Especially for me being a long time friend of the sniper to the adjustments they made to my 2 favorite weapons was not good the "gnasher" shotgun I have to say I did not like and the "longshot" as well. BUT before I go on when Gears 3 came out I was reluctant but still curious and I gotta say they made up for it in Gears 3 what I loved about the game is that they put the Gears 1 back in the sniper without having to account for the lag as you had to before incendiaries are new but I would have though to go with something more locust friendly with the same basic idea a plague-like grenade same effect but with tiny bugs that when it lands right on your body eats your skin to the bone and when it hits the floor the bugs also scattered covering a area they then disperse after a minute or so. Just a idea,but here it goes with what I think they absolutely did wrong with the game from the standpoint view of a gears veteran who grew up with the "gnasher" I have to say the creation of the sawed off is absolutely a disgrace I mean not a bad idea just needs some major tweaking idea #1 combine the sawed off and gnasher have a undershot barrel that has only 2! shots one in the barrel and one you have to reload. Idea #2 Either the damage on the lancer and hammerburst gets tweaked or the health we are given does, and my final idea applies to those who have been there from the very beginning with the new d.l.c (downloadable content). In the new map packs i'm sure everybody is thinking this we need the return of Fuel Depot, Canals, and War machine, <--- Gears 1
Blood Drive, River, <---- Gears 2
and what other maps you will come out with plus we shouldn't have to pay for maps we have already bought in the past. that is my review
